About the conference

The very first Sakyadhita International Conference, held at the Kalachakra Temple in Bodhgaya, India — the site of the Buddha's awakening. Founded by Ayya Khema, Chatsumarn Kabilsingh, and Karma Lekshe Tsomo, it established Sakyadhita and named women's ordination as the movement's signature concern.
